Treatment of Patients with Community-Acquired Pneumonia: Official Practice Guideline of the Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine Research Center Advisory Committee

Context: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to attained outside the hospital or less than 48 hours before admission, which is a significant cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in major comorbidities older age. Several microorganisms contribute developing CAP, primarily Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenza, Moraxella catarrhalis, atypical pathogens, e.g., Mycoplasma pneumonia. The incidence these depends on outpatient inpatient settings. Administering appropriate treatment among available antibiotics critical issue affecting patient survival. Methods: With multidisciplinary panel expert, this document offers evidence-based recommendations for managing CAP Iran. Results: evaluated availability antimicrobial agents local antibiotic resistance patterns based 94 relevant published studies from Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, Scientific Information Database (SID), Iran Medex, doc, Mag Iran, expert opinions. Conclusions: addressed two main parts rational outpatients hospitalized patients with CAP.
